Chief Engineer/Manager of Facilities Exclusive Resorts

An international partner group located in the Grand Caymans who is committed to excellent guest services is seeking a key leadership position with a hands on approach. The position of Manager of Facilities and Maintenance plans, organizes, directs and controls daily activities relating to building and grounds functions that pertain to resort operations . The Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and managing the maintenance department and other functions related to managerial positions . This role is primarily responsible for the general, preventative and repair maintenance of the buildings and grounds while complying with Exclusive Resorts standards and well the safety of the guest and associates. This role responds to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate guest concerns. In addition, the role supports a variety of maintenance activities including: managing employees, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting to ensure service and support is provided to guests and associates thereby promoting Exclusive Resorts as the preferred destination of choice.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
The successful candidate will have 5 years of leadership and management experience in a resort type atmosphere or other hospitality setting, with a history of progressive advantage in climbing the corporate ladder.
Relevant discipline related to facilities operation, planning and maintenance, or engineering, or the equivalent in business or industry experience, or certification.
Working knowledge of all building maintenance trades and professionals related to the appointment
Working knowledge of the ICC Building Codes, IBC Building Codes, NFPA Regulations, and local, state municipal legislation related to facilities construction, operation and maintenance.
Considerable knowledge of budgetary processes, including the development and administration of budgets.
EPA Certification Type I, II, III or Universal
Considerable interpersonal skills including communication (written and verbal), negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills. Related computer applications such as word processing 2010, excel spreadsheet 2010, Computerized Maintenance Management software (CMMS) and Energy Management Software (EMS).
Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
