Summary
Based in Houston, Texas, the Chief Geologist role will provide geological technology development, as well as staff support and leadership on the applications of geology to advanced passive seismic imaging. The role includes support for analysis, interpretation, client liaison and completion of multiple microseismic projects. The ideal candidate will be an expert level geologist with an outstanding publication record and desire to build on this record. This individual should welcome the opportunity to communicate with and educate clients, as well as mentor geological staff. This is an exciting role that offers an opportunity to showcase your industry expertise. This position is based in Houston, Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Mentoring and development of geological staff; Supports recruitment
Manage and monitor the overall geological quality of analysis work
Establish, maintain and update geological workflows in support of analysis work
Drive the development of new technology while providing matrix leadership and mentoring to geology staff across multiple locations
Promote and champion MSI?s involvement and participation in relevant industry trade show and professional association meetings and publications (SEG, EAGE, SPE, AAPG, etc.)
Provide subject matter expertise in various meetings with clients, regulators, etc.
Participate in the planning and implementation of the strategic direction of MicroSeismic?s development effort

Required Qualifications/Education/Work Experience
A Master?s degree in Geology, Physics, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics required, PhD desired
Minimum of 15 years relevant experience
Experience with development and exploitation geology, petrophysics, rock physics, structural geology and geomechanics
Superior technical leadership and influencing skills
Knowledge of seismic processing tools, workflows and imaging technology
Experience with fracture modeling and analysis and familiarity with reservoir simulation modeling and workflows
Ability to work independently and in a team environment across locations
Demonstrated strong mentoring skills
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Strong customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills required
