Description of Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing activities associated with the US EPR Civil / Structural work. This work primarily includes performing reinforced concrete design activities for large structures using Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS and CivilFEM) computer codes. The design requires the use of ACI 349 and ASME Section III Div 2 design codes. Responsible for schedule commitments and financial performance for the assigned tasks. Includes problem solving, review of in process activities to ensure the company standards of technical quality are met, and ensuring the company products meet client requirements and expectations.
The Mechanical and Civil Engineers in the Civil and Layout group (PECY-A) perform seismic/dynamic qualification of structures, high energy line break evaluations, loading calculations, security upgrades, Finite Element Analysis, piping stress analysis, designing structural modifications (steel, concrete, masonry block wall, etc.), routing and qualifying piping (or other suspended systems).
Specific Required Qualifications:
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
?BS in Civil Engineering plus a minimum of 5+ years of experience.
?Must have working knowledge with the computer code ANSYS.
?Must have working knowledge with reinforced concrete design using ACI 318, 349 or ASME Section III Div 2 design codes.
?Must have demonstrated experience in preparation of structural calculations.
?Good planning, communication and organization skills.
?Must be organized, technically competent, have effective oral and written communications, ability to compose complex technical documents, experienced in working in a multi-disciplined environment and interfacing with engineers, management, and have the ability to multi-task under time pressure.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate candidates:
?Experience in Nuclear Plant (PWR and/or BWR) design and analysis.
?Working knowledge with the computer code Civil FEM
?Working knowledge of personal computers and software applications with MS office application proficiency
?Familiar with GTSTRUDL frame analysis code
