Job Description :
Responsible for performing activities associated with the US EPR Standard Nuclear Plant Civil / Structural seismic analysis work. This work primarily includes performing seismic structural analysis activities and reconciliation of site specific seismic load conditions with standard plant design. Seismic analysis activities are performed using ANSYS and SASSI software applications. Activities also include responding to NRC requests for additional information and client requests for information. Responsible for schedule commitments and financial performance for the assigned tasks. Includes problem solving, review of in process activities to ensure client standards of technical quality are met, and ensuring products meet client requirements and expectations.
Specific Required Qualifications (education, technical certifications, experience, software/computer skills):
? BS in Civil Engineering plus a minimum of 5+ years of nuclear experience.
? Must have working knowledge with the computer code SASSI and/or ANSYS.
? Must have working knowledge of application of dynamic (seismic) loads on structures.
? Must have demonstrated experience in preparation of structural calculations.
? Must be organized, technically competent, have effective oral and written communications, ability to compose complex technical and licensing documents, experienced in working in a multi-disciplined environment and interfacing with engineers, management, and have the ability to multi-task under time pressure.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate candidates:
? Experience in Nuclear Plant (PWR and/or BWR) design and analysis.
? Experience in application of geotechnical properties in seismic analysis.
