The Clearing Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing day to day issues of various departments (Back Office & Middle Office) within a FCM and provide application-based solutions to those issues. This will require a sound knowledge of the inner workings of various departments within a FCM. The applications the position will heavily be involved with are a web based middle-office product as well as a midrange back-office product. The position will require testing, implementation, and after hours support of all applications & hardware managed by the department. A professional, customer service attitude and commitment to working in a team environment are essential to this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for executing full life-cycle (i.e., requirements, design, testing and implementation) of assigned projects within the Clearing Systems team. Activities would include coordination with functional and technical stakeholders, both internal and external (including exchanges, vendors and customers).
Manage and ensure Sungard - GMI Customer Service Bulletins and Annual Release are tested and implemented properly and in a timely fashion
Manage all communications inbound and outbound from the IBM iSeries (i.e. FTP transmissions, SFTP, MQM transmissions, SMTP, SNADS, etc.)
Provide application development support for internal & external customer development projects and applications.
Make recommendations for hardware and software upgrades and execute those recommendations once approved. Create and maintain AS400 Queries
Respond to daily support issues and work with vendor and/or in house staff to resolve support issues.
Support user and custom developed applications.
Provide after-hours support & troubleshooting for all aspects of the middle & back office applications. This will include weekends and holidays. (Responsibility shared within a team.)
Document and implement development and operational procedures and standards as required.
Provide assistance as required regarding iSeries system administration duties.
Maintain knowledge of current Industry and Regulatory requirements.
Maintain knowledge of current AS/400, IBM, GMI technology developments and trends.
Experience & Skills Required
Bachelor?s Degree or relevant significant industry experience; (preferably in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar), or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 7 years of Futures Industry experience of which 5 years must be within an IT department
Must have experience with one of the following (or similar) products: FFastFill?s Prysm, Sungard?s Clearvision, and Sungard?s GMI Working knowledge of the following will be required:
IBM iSeries hardware
The basic understanding of OS400 which includes but is not limited to:
Communications (SNADS, TCP/IP, FTP, MQM, etc.
PDM (AS/400 Programming Development Manager) for problem solving
IFS (Integrated File System
Programming experience with IBM CL (RPG & OCL not required but helpful.)
