Description:
Drive maximum territory sales growth and profitability through analyzing and leading the sales cycle forward with new and existing hospital accounts. Provide clinical education and support to the targeted customer segments, including Cardiologist, Heart Failure Specialist, Hospital Administrative Executives and Blood Lab personnel. Manage customer relationships through ongoing business reviews to become entrenched with the customer in order to grow the relationships and grow the business.
Primary responsibilities include:
Specific deliverables for the role are:
Responsible for increasing galectin-3 test volume within existing cardiology practice as well as throughout affiliated hospitals.
Responsible for identifying and expanding the galectin-3 customer base including new high volume cardiology practices and heart failure clinics Responsible for coordinating with lab partners, setting up regional reference laboratories, setting up individual hospital laboratories, educating clinicians and early adopter cardiologists and lab personnel, and working with payors to establish local reimbursement
Responsible for territory forecasting and exceeding revenue targets, as well as maintaining accurate expense budgets
Responsible for distilling timely feedback from the market including: objections raised by customers, opportunities and or alliances won/lost
Responsible for distilling in-house marketing information and other sources into monthly reports for the V.P. of Sales and Marketing on progress, trends and barriers

Qualifications:
Technical skills and abilities
First-hand experience of selling a diagnostic product that involves changing the clinical paradigm- preferably in the cardiovascular space.
Proven record influencing and gaining the respect of thought leaders in the field
Experience in selling or marketing to clinicians and specialists outside of the clinical laboratory setting
Proven successful track record in medical diagnostics and/or device sales. Marketing experience a plus.
Experience in ?ground floor? sales experience- ie; key opinion leader development, leading and coordinating regional education programs, working with distribution partners
Understanding of the IVD market (both lab services and diagnostic products)
Key Challenges:
Differentiating Galectin-3 as a culprit marker versus a bystander diagnostic marker with the marketplace by gaining acceptance of its utility in the prognosis of heart failure by measuring levels of fibrosis and helping clinicians develop a therapy as a response to the result. Working in an environment where everything is not known and one must have the ability to read, review and interpret ongoing studies and data as one works in real time.
Educational Requirements:
Undergraduate degree, B.S. in Life Sciences preferred.
