Summary of Position
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinical Development Liaison for Oncology will support the development of and enhancements to the oncology suite of products, and will support key partnerships related to oncology (with clinical practices and other strategic partners). In executing these tasks, this role will closely partner with other members of the Clinical Development team and Software Engineering to ensure the clinical perspective (i.e., understanding clinical workflow issues, perspective of clinical end-users, clinical guidelines and potential impact on patient care) is appropriately represented within all stages of product development and implementation.
Specific Responsibilities
- Support product development activity related to the Proventys Oncology product suite
- Engage and collaborate with clinical advisors, SMEs and front-line oncology clinicians to understand unmet needs, workflow issues and market opportunities
- Maintain and build partnerships with oncology practices, driving use of Proventys solutions and serving as the primary clinical point of contact
- Stay abreast of the rapidly evolving oncology literature (especially related to personalized medicine) and communicate potentially relevant findings to the CMO and clinical team
- Create clinical requirements necessary to develop new products and enhance existing product portfolio
- Communicate key clinical concepts, both internally and externally, in support of the development and commercialization of company products
- Support Client Services in driving product adoption and utilization
Requirements include:
- Graduate degree in clinical field of study
- Detailed knowledge of oncology clinical practice patterns, clinical guidelines and workflow
- Clinical background and experience (preferably including some in oncology)
- Analytical ability necessary to examine, manipulate and draw conclusions from clinical data
- Ability to interpret and summarize medical literature
- Flexibility to take on new challenges, willingness and ability to handle whatever type of role needs to filled within the group
- Entrepreneurial outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of office software including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
The following skills/characteristics are desirable but are not required:
3 or more years of direct clinical experience related to medical oncology (nurse, pharmacist, physician assistant, other)
Master of Public Health
Experience in project and process management/health care operations, either in industry, clinical administration, or both
Experience in research and clinical trials.
