Clinical Informatics Analyst Health Integrated
JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Informatics Analyst is part of a technical team that provides support and business solutions to internal and external customers by leveraging internal information systems, developing additional technical capabilities and writing documentation in support of this work. This position will work with current staff and processes, as well as develop new processes, to deliver analysis and clinical performance measures using data from internal systems and external data feeds. This work would include evaluating current reporting capabilities and enhancing these capabilities to provide feedback to internal and external clients. The successful candidate will systematically improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and the technical processes used to deliver outputs. Serving as a liaison between business owners, end users and technical staff, this position will evaluate current technical capabilities in providing healthcare informatics and participate in the development of new capabilities and acquisition of new technologies to improve delivery of results. The scope of responsibilities shall include gathering requirements directly from end users and customers, evaluating current capabilities and developing new processes, controls and mechanisms to improve data quality, accuracy and overall customer satisfaction.
Education/License/Certification: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems or related field required. Master?s Degree in same preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years data analysis experience required, preferably in managed care, healthcare, or insurance industry.
Knowledge and appreciation of healthcare outcomes concepts and requirements.
Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, process, and techniques.
Knowledge of project management principles, practices techniques and tools.
Ability to participate in a hands-on role in the development and preparation of outcome analyses, methodologies and ROI calculations.
Knowledge of the principles of healthcare operational metrics preferred
Knowledge of healthcare coding methodologies and claims systems preferred
Ability to conduct functional interviews, create client and user report requirements and requests for technical information.
Ability to document outcomes/report designs and to format and generate reports utilizing SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Microsoft Excel, and other query tools in the Microsoft BI stack.
Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence, including ETL writing
Experience with HEDIS Measures and knowledge of disease and /or case management ideal
Ability to design and implement the necessary data quality systems and quality assurance functions to ensure accuracy of clinical and demographic system source data and metrics output.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations to internal customers.
Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
Must have a good sense of humor and have fun completing projects and working with a talented team.
