Good Start Genetics is seeking a Clinical Molecular Genetics Laboratory Supervisor.
We seek a highly motivated individual with supervisory experience in a high through-put, CLIA-regulated, clinical molecular genetics laboratory.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day scheduling of personnel and assays in a clinical molecular genetics laboratory to ensure TAT goals are met.
Develop a good understanding of all assays in the lab in order to provide support to the technologists for trouble-shooting, and to be able to run and interpret assays as needed.
Ensure that medical technologists are appropriately trained and competent for the tasks they perform.
Ensure that all SOPs are accurate and appropriate for their intended use and that they are adhered to by laboratory personnel.
Work with the Quality department to ensure laboratory personnel compliance with CLIA and CAP quality management systems and safety practices.
Manages laboratory staff with respect to goal setting, performance evaluation, personal development and mentorship.

Requirements:
At least a M.S. in Molecular Biology, Medical technology, Biology, or related degree with four years? experience processing clinical samples for molecular diagnostic assays
Or a B.S. in Molecular Biology, Medical technology, Biology, or related degree with seven years of experience processing clinical samples for molecular diagnostic assays
Must have a B.S. from a U.S. institution or have official documentation of equivalency. Degree must include the following course work: 16 semester hours of chemistry (at least six of these in inorganic chemistry), 16 semester hours of biology courses relevant to medical sciences and at least three semester hours of mathematics.
Proven leadership and management skills with at least two (2) years of experience as a clinical laboratory supervisor in a CLIA high complexity laboratory performing clinical molecular genetic testing.
Proficiency in MS Office and email.
Familiarity with high through-put platforms and a wide variety of molecular genetic techniques
Experience with development and trouble-shooting of molecular genetic assays.
