Clinical Pharmacist MedVentive
Job Summary
Reporting to the VP of Client Services, the Clinical Pharmacist will provide our clients with key clinical insights regarding the pharmacy industry. This role will work with key clients including physicians and leaders of a physician organization (PHO) and health plans. The Clinical Pharmacist is primarily responsible for supporting the pharmaceutical management activities of our clients.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain all clinical components of the Pharmacy application, including weekly review of new medications for inclusion into the MedVentive Universal Formulary, monthly review of new generics for inclusions into the interchange system, and twice a year update of the master interchange definition table.
Create and maintain clinical consulting tools for use by MedVentive clients, including the quarterly generic pipeline report and review and maintenance of any therapeutic class reviews.
Maintain and update each client's customized pharmacy interchange tables to ensure interchange application follows specs provided by each client.
Provide clinical consulting services to internal and external customers in both the development of custom quality measures and implementation of existing standard measures including, but not limited to HEDIS, PQRI and Stars.
Oversee a team of six clinical pharmacists responsible for working with MedVentive clients to decrease pharmaceutical spending through the promotion of cost-effective drug regimens including therapeutic substitutions and generic maximization.
Work collaboratively with MedVentive clients to analyze medical and pharmacy cost and utilization data to identify key drivers to support development of clinical programs and campaigns designed to maximize quality while reducing overall health care costs.
Serve as the co-chair of the company's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
Participate in client and MedVentive clinical and operational meetings as necessary.
Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in Pharmacy, two plus years of clinical experience and current MA pharmacist licensure required. Doctor of Pharmacy degree and previous managed care or consulting experience strongly preferred.
Candidates must have excellent presentation and writing skills and be comfortable presenting in front of large groups.
Must possess an extensive knowledge of drug products, medical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and disease states.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
