Clinical Rheumatology Liaison (Sales Representatives) Crescendo Bioscience
The Clinical Rheumatology Liaison (CRL) represents Crescendo in introducing and selling Crescendo
diagnostics along with the concept of Personalized Medicine (PGx) to both academic and communitybased rheumatologists, and mid-level practitioners in their territory. The CRL will assure all logistical
issues are managed with Health Care Providers (HCP?s). The role of the CRL may vary relative to an office
or a physician during adoption of Crescendo diagnostics. Initial exposure to product adoption, the CRL
will engage in selling activities much of which are educational in nature, with the goal of familiarizing
and promoting to the audience and building the need for PGx in Rheumatology. This will include
additional education on the technologies and statistical methods used in Crescendo?s assay
development. Post adoption, the role will add logistical support to ensure any tests submitted by an HCP
are handled efficiently and provide clinical review and support for interpretation of results. The CRL will
also be continually educating HCP?s on new data and publications relating to optimal use of Crescendo
diagnostics. Primary selling activity includes, but not limited to, the following:
? Selling the physician on the value of the Vectra DA test and interpretation
? Providing In-Service training to office staff
? Working with local phlebotomy providers to streamline specimen acquisition
? Delivering local talks & arranging peer to peer programs to groups that want to learn more
? Coordinating with local health plans that are most relevant to these practices
Product Description
Crescendo is developing a series of high-value diagnostic service products to characterize disease
biology for individual patients afflicted with autoimmune disorders. Our first panel of diagnostic assays
will provide new, quantitative insight for rheumatologists who manage patients with rheumatoid
arthritis (RA). Each test generates a score that relies on multiplex, algorithm-driven results from the
proteomic analysis of serum specimens submitted to our lab by treating physicians Qualifications
? Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer

Competitive Profile
The most competitive candidates will have over 10 years? experience in sales, with a track record of
success, promoting scientifically complex products to a specialty medical audience. In particular, those
with recent experience selling into rheumatology or immunology may be most effective in gaining
access to targeted accounts. The other group likely to do well in this role will have marketed PGx
services to other specialized medical professionals. Those hired into this position will almost certainly
have a mix of these backgrounds, weighted more towards rheumatology than PGx. Plus factors will
include an educational background in the life sciences, real experience as a health care provider,
demonstrated success with novel products that are first-in-class and a deep interest in truly consultative
? Minimum BS/BA degree
? Minimum 7 years in the health care selling arena of bio-pharma, diagnostics or capital
equipment
? Rheumatology/Immunology experience preferred
? Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Experience in successful product launches or participation in the building of a small company.
? Preferred experience in complex point of sale (i.e., diagnostics, infusible or Buy and Bill
products)
? Documented successful track record in sales; and history of being a top-level performer in prior
roles
? Proven ability to manage ever-increasing responsibility and sustain growth
? In-depth product knowledge and knowledge of disease states in current field of expertise
? Top performer in prior roles
? Strong knowledge and understanding of formulary development, coverage and reimbursement
issues
? Significant Mac or PC knowledge with specific knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
(preferred)
? Valid Driver?s License
? Willingness/ability to Travel due to size of geography
? Must be able to pass a background check and have strong referencesselling. In addition, an affinity for smaller companies, and an understanding of the risks that attend any
VC-backed, pre-IPO start-up venture will be important to us.
