Job DescriptionPatientsLikeMe is looking for a talented and proven Clinician to join our Health Data and Patient Safety Team. Someone with experience working with and listening to patients about health outcomes that matters to them. Someone who is willing to roll up his/her sleeves to continuously improve our data driven medical framework within an online environment. Someone who can work with our patients and clients to help them understand, integrate and utilize our health data effectively. And someone who believes strongly in the company we are building that puts patients front and center in healthcare. This full time position is based in Cambridge, MA.
About PatientsLikeMe
PatientsLikeMe is a free online community for all patients with any life-changing condition. Members create profiles with detailed health data -- think treatments taken, symptoms experienced, diagnosis history and more -- and share those experiences with the entire community. The end result? Patients taking control of their own disease while helping other patients and contributing to research. Responsibilities:
Curation and management of health data entered by patient members, including but not limited to conditions, symptoms, treatments, side effects, purposes, and hospitalizations.
Provide as needed support, monitoring and/or clinical review of patient safety data collected within the Drug Safety Dashboard.
Collaborate with research scientists, engineers and designers in our persona-based condition development process (i.e. ethnographic interviews, condition-specific patient reported outcome measures and relevant quantitative metrics).
Utilize internal and external resources to support the PatientsLikeMe medical framework, including biomedical informatics, drug databases, and other clinical reference databases.
Work with Engineering/Product Team to identify enhancements to improve health data collection and quality; and complete associated testing prior to integration of enhancements into production.
Work with the Analytics Team to create queries and tools needed to assess and analyze the integrity, quality and meaningfulness of PatientsLikeMe health data.
Contribute, as needed and as appropriate, to the ongoing growth and development of PatientsLikeMe.

Requirements:
Clinical degree in nursing, pharmacy or equivalent plus Masters-level health sciences degree (i.e. biomedical/health informatics, health policy, public health, nursing, pharmacy)
Clinical experience working with patients and clinical research experience a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player with a proven ability to work cross-functionally
Self-starting, entrepreneurial spirit
