The Job
Responsibilities
- Working on new exciting challenges in an R&D environment where teamwork is #1.
- Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications / drawings.
- Utilizes inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and CMM's.
- Approves or rejects items and documents inspection results as required.
- Performs documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements.
- Communicates with internal customers, and suppliers as required to resolve inspection discrepancies.
- Perform surface plate inspection of first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if required.
- Use electronic ERP system to route parts and components to proper departments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years aerospace precision mechanical inspection experience required.
- Must have PC-DMIS experience.
- Must have first article inspection experience.
- Must have experience with DCC (Direct Computer Control).
- Must have experience inspecting R&D hardware.
- Must be able to detect design and drawing flaws.
- Minimum 3 years recent CMM and surface plate inspection and a stable work history.
- Romer Arm experience is a must.
- Receiving and In process inspection experience is required.
- Requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gages required.
- Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Preferred skills
- ISO 9001 / AS9100 experience a plus.
- Statistical process control experience a plus.
- Experience with Polyworks is a plus.
- Must be able to work all 2nd shift hours, and overtime, as necessary.
