Description
The CMO ValueClick Media will be a key executive team member and will work closely with internal and external resources to lead the implementation of strategic marketing goals and objectives. This person will help leverage resources and work successfully across internal functional areas to formulate strategic integrated marketing policies, programs and procedures to help drive continued growth and profitability.
The CMO ValueClick Media will play a key role in identifying and realizing the strategic vision to integrate the broader ValueClick media businesses into a unified group, but will also define the day-to-day requirements and tactical plans to deliver against objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a Branding Strategy and Market Positioning for the combined divisions. This will include unifying four divisions with five companies and creating the naming conventions for these groups. Refine and evolve ValueClick?s market position internally to the employees and externally to marketers and the financial community.
Develop a deep Consumer Understanding utilizing our data and communication capabilities along with other quantitative and qualitative tools. Demonstrate our expertise in creating an ongoing dialog with consumers, including frequency, duration, style and weighting of such communications.
Build and maintain a Competitive Analysis and create positioning against perceived competitors based on our functional differences. Centralize efforts to gather relevant industry, competitive landscape, and regulatory information and distill it down into meaningful data for systematic dissemination to the organization. Produce pertinent insights from the data and develop a Point of View to be shared company-wide. Drive an efficient communication flow to create a synchronized Market-Sensing Organization that can be both forward-looking and appropriately reactive to the market.
Support the Sales Team and Internal Functions in prospecting and client retention efforts. Develop collateral to support (i) the brand, (ii) the vision, and (iii) major accounts. Take ownership of event planning, and work closely with the Divisional Presidents and Sales VPs to coordinate Sales meetings and training, industry events, broad-based entertainment and targeted entertainment for certain key audiences. In addition, coordinate with the Human Resources Department to include our Marketing position in our internal communications and employee meetings.
Build and manage the B2B Marketing strategy and overall Communication Plan. Determine what communications should be delivered to clients, prospects, employees and the broader financial markets. Develop a metronomic approach to address each of these audiences in a forward-looking manner, coordinating with Sales, Human Resources, Legal, and Investor Relations.
Provide Leadership to the ValueClick Marketing team in the development and execution of the aforementioned marketing initiatives for the organization. Responsible for needs assessment, evaluation of existing talent, recruiting, training and ongoing development and management of the team. Integrate the divisional functions into a singular, cohesive, and high performing group.
The ideal candidate will have:
15-20+ years of varied experience in areas such as brand positioning, B2B marketing, data and analytics, and/or consumer insights. Relevant industry experience will include consumer products, multichannel retail, e-commerce and online marketing.
Proven track record in bringing a blend of creativity, business acumen and passion to produce meaningful, sustained online marketing strategies delivering demonstrated tangible, measurable results on communications.
Ability to leverage consumer behaviors and insights to help shape client marketing communications strategy for both current customers (CRM) as well as prospects, all while understanding our clients? need to deliver ROI.
Branding experience at a manager level or above, and/or experience with new product launches preferred; corporate branding experience a strong plus.
Strong project management skills and an understanding of the importance of achieving key milestones on time, on target, and within budget.
Collaborative work style and strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and an ability to implement strategy.
A leadership presence, credibility, and the aptitude to build consensus.
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications; MBA preferred.
