The CMS Paralegal is responsible for the submission of all Medicare Set-Asides (?MSA?) to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (?CMS?) for approval. The CMS Paralegal is responsible for file review, and ensuring compliance with CMS policies and procedures. The CMS Paralegal will assist clients in understanding the required documentation for CMS approval, gathering of the documentation, and communication with CMS to ensure approval for all files.
Review and manage daily work queue Work in a team environment to complete and submit files to CMS for approval
Review files for accuracy and completeness, and assist clients with obtaining providing the necessary documents required by CMS for approval
Follow up with the WCRC to review files and determine what documentation is needed to complete their files.
Ensure turnaround time standards and terms of Service Level Agreements are met
Educate clients and third parties on the CMS policies and procedures
Assure timely and efficient response to clients needs
Update clients on the status of their cases to ensure that they are kept up to date on the status of their pending files
Assist CMS Compliance Manager in other tasks as determined appropriate
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Required: Bachelors Degree or Paralegal Certificate
2 years work experience
Strong work ethic
Exceptional organizational abilities
Must be approachable and able to build constructive relationships with clients
Must be an outgoing, team player willing to take on challenges and must understand the importance of project completion, attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Must be highly motivated and able to work individually with a great deal of self direction
