Job Qualifications (basic job description): Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced The CNC Machine Operator will be working in the machine department on the manufacturing floor performing CNC trim setup and operation. Position requires a person who can work with minimum supervision fabricating flight and non-flight hardware from various metals or composite materials. A qualified candidate should be able to multi-task, take initiative and communicate clearly.
CNC Trim Machine Set-up and Operation
Follow planning sequence of machining operations to fabricate hardware to engineering drawing requirements holding closer tolerances on complex configuration as required.
Utilize all shop equipment as applicable
Use of various measuring techniques used to validate machined hardware.
Effective interfacing with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Assurance personnel.
By able to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
High School graduate and technical school.
3-7 years of experience in composites and or as a CNC operator.
Documented apprenticeship programs or trade school certification considered in combination with experience.
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, which utilize ASME, Y 14.5M
Knowledge of geometric tolerances is required
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Advanced vocational and/or military technical schooling related to aircraft manufacturing or maintenance.
Ability to working within a manufacturing environment and able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.
Shift Requirements (specify if irregular work hours or shift work will be required):
2nd shift with flexibility to work extend hours or other shifts as needed
