This position performs a variety of machinist duties. Incumbents must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, understand properties of metal and their penetration; Programs, sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, wire edm etc. Care for and maintain and service tools and equipment. Incumbents must have knowledge of mechanical principles involved in fabricating and machining parts or assemblies. Ability to provide proper care, repair and operations of machinery, maintenance, servicing and recordkeeping of tools and equipment is required.
This position is located in our Malvern, Pennsylvania machine shop.
Programs, sets up, operates, maintains, calibrates and adjusts specialized machine tool equipment.
Assemble and disassembles equipment and component parts.
Repairs, cleans, adjusts and/or performs preventive maintenance on computers, equipment, tools, or machinery, etc.
Uses and operates a variety of hand tools, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
Builds, fabricates, or repairs equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings.
Modifies and adjusts metal parts for special projects.
Other tasks as assigned.
High school Diploma or GED; some college or technical training preferred. Minimum of: 1 years? experience in a Machinist capacity and 5 years? Machine Operator experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read complex mechanical blueprints.
Ability to Program using CAM Software
Experience with ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Tolerancing.
Experience with ANSI Z1.4 Sampling Plan.
Working knowledge of GMP compliance for Class II Medical Devices.
Hands-on experience with micrometers, calipers, dial and digital indicators, optical comparator, ring gauges, pin gauges, and thread gauges
Understanding of thread specifications and classifications.
Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
Principles, theories, and practices of metal properties and their heat penetration
