Coater Mechanical Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift SAGE Electrochromics
SAGE Coater Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Night ShiftSAGE is currently seeking a Coater Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the weekday-night shift maintenance team. We are looking for individuals who have experience in a manufacturing setting with the ability to produce a high quality product. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and work in a team environment along with having good computer skills. Individuals must also have a high standard for safety, a background in large area coater maintenance, equipment repairs and improvements, and troubleshooting experience.
Responsibilities:
Monitor coater performance (base pressure, pumping, equipment status, etc.) and take corrective actions as necessary to improve coater uptime.
Train and/or guide other employees through coater maintenance rebuild procedures and good vacuum practice
Troubleshoot and/or assist in troubleshooting coater problems both mechanical and process.
Design or assist in designing parts needed for coater improvement projects and/or upgrades.
Review and approve coater parts and target drawings as required.
Order and follow progress of parts needing fabrication for coater projects and repair.
Assist colleagues in identifying whether coater issues are related to certain process issues if any.
Arrange shipping /receiving, organization, and inventory control of coater spares and consumables as needed
Seek out resources and acquire bids for coater related parts and/or services as needed
Ensure all coater related materials are represented in the MSDS files.
View and interpret North American and European mechanical drawings and manuals, pneumatic and vacuum schematics.
Maintain accurate coater records in the CMMS with regard to inspections and preventative PM /predictive maintenance. Maintain coater spare parts listing and provide coater spares inventory data to CMMS coordinator
Perform other equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and improvements as needed or directed.
Support the Maintenance Department in maintaining plant equipment, PM?s and predictive maintenance.
Maintain paper and electronic files of equipment manuals.
Ability to perform basic machining, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and fabrication work.
Disassemble, clean, and rebuild various pieces of equipment.
Audit and Verify LOTO-Try Out (TO) Procedures
Perform non-scheduled or emergency maintenance when required (24/7/365) to support operations or coater vents.
Ability to maintain productivity and positive attitude, ability to foster a team environment.
Must be safety conscious and abide by all workplace policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as required to support production of SageGlass. Perform all other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills:
2 yr. Associate's degree in Engineering-Technology or technical discipline with a Minimum of 5 years? experience in vacuum coating preferably with large area in line coaters.
Knowledge and experience with Equipment Lock Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Excellent troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis capabilities.
Hands on experience with coater vacuum system maintenance & troubleshooting, industrial equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
