The Cognos Consultant will be working with a team to design, develop and test solutions that meet the requirements. The robust job will call for flexibility in requirements / specifications analysis and development utilizing your skills in database design, Metadata creation, and advanced reporting.
Responsibilities
?Design and develop Business Intelligence reporting solutions (reports, cubes) to meet client requirements related to Jenzabar?s CX, JX and Capture products. Databases include Informix and SQL.
?Working with customer to gather business requirements and provide technical support.
?Customize and support of the overall Cognos Framework report model
?Develop and maintain technical documentation on the customizations.
?Provide remote and on site Training to customers
Special Skills
?Four year degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience;
?Proven ability and desire to both estimate tasks and meet deadlines, working effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment;
?Ability to transform business requirements into deliverables with minimal supervision.
?Good analytical and problem solving skills;
?Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
?Motivated, hardworking and flexible;
?Quick learner who enjoys a challenge and can see the bigger picture;
Technical Skills and Experience
?Minimum of 2 years experience
?Experience with Cognos Report Studio and Query Studio development.
?Experience with the UNIX and Linux operating system (HPUX and/or AIX) is desirable
?Business knowledge of the Higher Education industry is a strong plus;
?Experience in design, development and maintenance of Cognos framework models a plus
