The successful candidate will work together with an interdisciplinary team and external organizations to generate data demonstrating the power of single cell analysis using Fluidigm?s single cell platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Interface with academic, governmental and industrial customers to catalyze studies demonstrating the power of single cell analysis in biology, in particular in the fields of Cancer, Immunology, Stem Cells, and Neurology.
Gather data from collaborations and the literature to create marketing collateral; help collaborators publish peer-reviewed scientific papers.
Present study data to support marketing and sale of these applications and Fluidigm?s chips and instruments, both individually and in collaboration with external organizations.
Identify and prioritize new single cell markets and customers; provide feedback from existing single cell users; provide guidance on internal technology development.
QUALIFICATIONS (experience, skills, education etc.):
Essential:
Experience in collaborating across multiple organizations ? preferably a mixture of academic, commercial and governmental, to establish and achieve common objectives
Experience applying genomics information in the single cell field (industrial experience preferred; academic or governmental experience valuable)
Ph.D. in Biology, , Genomics, or molecular biology essential. 2-5 years post doctoral experience preferred.
Broad knowledge of cell biology; experience with Cancer, Immunology, Stem Cells and/or Neurology preferred.
Desired:
Experience managing collaborations involving rapidly-evolving technology.
Experience with both plant and animal cells
Working knowledge of genomic technology and instrumentation (i.e. next generation sequencing, qPCR)
