Commercial Manager, Business Development Decision Resources
Overall Purpose of Role:
As the Commercial Manager, Business Development you will be tasked with driving incremental growth for DRG within the North American Mid and Small-Cap Biopharma community. This person will be required to recruit and set-up a new Business Development team, with the aim of generating new business and growing the subsequent account base year-on-year.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To attain quarterly and annual booking and revenue quotas for the U.S Business Development team AND to proactively generate new business that will contribute to the team's result.
To effectively manage recruitment agency relationships, as well as the candidate pipeline, to ensure the team is fully staffed at all times, whether increasing headcount or covering for attrition.
To induct and on-board new hires, in line with the global Business Development Strategy, in 3 key areas; namely sales skills/process, product knowledge and industry knowledge.
To aspire to coach and develop all BD sales staff to a high standard and ensure continuous learning and development to build a future succession plan.
To track and measure a variety of key metrics and performance indicators, in line with the Global BD team?s standards, to help spot growth opportunities, anticipate and react to threats and to diagnose performance-related challenges.
To build effective and mutually beneficial relationships with key colleagues across the various content and corporate teams.
To accurately forecast and manage expectations up the chain with regard to future performance.
Education, Experience, and Competencies Required:
2 years+ experience of leading and managing B2B sales teams with a track record of success and progression. Experience of managing in a proactive new business environment is a must!
3 years+ of B2B experience selling into the Pharmaceutical industry. Must have experience of generating new business over the phone and face to face
Experience in managing teams selling licensed subscription products and/or Business Intelligence tools preferred
Strong business acumen
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills. Experience of conferences and events

Passionate about winning; A self-starter with a track record of success ideally in and out of the workplace
Clear thinker with proven ability to articulate complex issues into simple messages
Team player; able to work effectively with cross-functional and international teams and colleagues
Languages: fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of any or several other languages is desirable
