Commodity Category Manager Storeroom Solutions
Storeroom Solutions (SSI) is seeking three (3) Category Managers with deep MRO Materials sourcing and supplier management experience to support our business growth. Specifically, we are looking for Category Managers with expertise in one or more of the following MRO sub-categories: Power Train, Pipes Valves & Fittings (PVF) and Cutting Tools.
A Category Manager is responsible for researching and identifying suppliers for assigned materials across the SSI network of customers, working closely with Site Operations staff and customers to develop supply sourcing strategies that reduce cost, ensuring continuity of supply, and meet customer's quality requirements. It has responsibility for leading SSI's supplier management efforts, report project activities on a monthly basis and ensures compliance with SSI's purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations. Candidates should reside near or be willing to relocate to the Radnor, Pa. area where the jobs will be based.
Key Duties and Responsibilities for the position:
Develop & execute Category Management Sourcing Strategies
Aggregate spend and develop Commodity sourcing strategies (Pre-defined Supply Channels)
Ensure relationships with Pre-defined Supply Channels are positioned to support Client SLA's
Structured relationships
Performance management program
Understand the current spend profile: of suppliers, fragmentation of supply base, measured and non-measured spend, current savings performance, etc.
Understand the Site requirements: standardization opportunities, service levels; contract deliverables; guarantees, directed spend, key contacts, etc.
Know the Market landscape: key suppliers (manufacturers, distributors either current SSI supplier or not), their go to market approach, strengths, weaknesses, geographical coverage
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
4 year college degree (B.S. Technical degree preferred)
Ability to effectively lead formal strategic sourcing efforts related to MRO and Facilities services
Deep knowledge of one or more of the three following MRO sub-categories: Power Train, Pipes Valves & Fittings (PVF) and Cutting Tools.
Strong negotiating and planning skills
Ability to interface with customers and suppliers via strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong analytical, data analysis and problem-solving skills
Self motivated with the ability to work with minimal day to day supervision
Formal training and/or experience in strategic sourcing
Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Access
Ability to travel
