The Role

Tesla Motors has an opening for a self-motivated and highly organized individual to assist in managing our Communications and PR efforts in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region, reporting to the Director of Communications - EMEA. A successful candidate in this role will have a degree in Communications or Public Relations, with media or automotive experience is a plus.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the Communications Director in all PR related tasks. The Communications Assistant will help the communications department to fulfill the company's mission of growing world-wide brand awareness through a range of public relations and analytic functions.

Highly organized and confident an ability to manage projects within set deadlines, as well as assisting in the administration and smooth operation of the communications team will be key as well as on-going cooperation with other departments and a range of internal and external stakeholders.

This full time role requires the flexibility of being able to attend events and functions out-of-hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Promote and protect Tesla's reputation as a cutting-edge company producing the world's most exciting cars and shifting the paradigm of personal transportation worldwide.
• Assist Communications Director in working with several forms of media, including online, business, tech and social media, to generate high-impact coverage for Tesla.
• Assist in planning, developing and executing the company's PR calendar, including: news announcements, releases, pitches, events and reports.
• Periodically arrange logistics for speaking engagements for management and organize conference and trade-show participation.
• Build meaningful relationships with internal clients to achieve highly effective and measurable PR results.
• Deliver cars to and pick up cars from journalists for test drives.
• Track progress for PR through media monitoring tools and create coverage and other reports for company's internal use.
• Keep photo database and press coverage archives.
• Create and maintain media contacts lists for all regions.
• Assist with proactive outreach to journalists to ensure maximum exposure of press releases and other external communications.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in PR, Marketing, Journalism, Communication or equivalent required.
• Experience in marketing, communications or PR with a strong emphasis on writing a plus.
• Strong experience and comfort writing essays, Q&As, talking points and blogs â€" on deadline.
• Excellent written and spoken English. Additional European language a plus.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
• Happy to travel and attend events across Europe occasionally as needed.
• Clean, valid driving license.
• Photoshop experience and skills with Microsoft Office packages.
• Ability to travel (30%).
