We are looking for someone full of ideas, with a can do approach to ensure that internal and external company contributors are informed, involved and enthused about MongoDB now and into the future.
The Communications Manager is a key role within Corporate Communications, reporting to the World Wide Head of Corporate Communications, based in New York City.
This role will work closely with MongoDB Executive team, Sales, Product Marketing and other lines of business. They will help promote customer and partner success stories; help MongoDB establish a strong industry leadership position with key speaking opportunities for executives; and develop core social media strategies designed to increase awareness.
The candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day resourcing needs, counsel and guidance of our PR agencies and in working with Corporate Communications to effectively roll out company news, PR initiatives and thought leadership efforts.
The Communications Manager will help recruit customers as references for external activities working in tandem with the Sr. Manager of Corporate Communications. The individual will help conduct interviews with reference customers to gain their stories, insights and experiences and will manage the creation of assets from these as well as work with PR agencies to arrange press interviews for these customers.
Demonstrate strategic thinking and planning abilities
Cultivate reference customers for PR, analyst relations, webinars, conferences, case studies and other assets
Act as a PR champion with thorough knowledge of developing, implementing, and delivering the appropriate communication vehicles to achieve the desired PR results
Interact with senior company management, external resources such as agencies, partner companies; provide strategic counsel to key executive spokespeople on relevant PR activities and programs
Recommend, implement and maintain social media programs
5+ years PR, Marketing or other relevant experience
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
Innovative thinking and knowledge of a broad range of media, including being able to develop new media strategies
Initiative to develop proactive ideas and the ability to articulate, defend, and advocate for a particular program or recommendation
Demonstrable skills in building strong relationships and trust with cross-functional groups and executive spokespeople
Ability to produce high quality work under strict and constant deadlines with an eye for detail and accuracy
Strong project management and organizational skills to work with minimal supervision and manage up as appropriate
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) Required
