Trion Worlds is seeking a Community Manager who has experience with online community management and MMO culture. The ideal candidate has worked on console titles and shooters in addition to online games. The Community Manager should have experience building and engaging a diverse community of gamers as well as planning and executing web content and features. S/he should have exceptional project and time management skills, be comfortable in a public-facing role, have a positive attitude, and maintain grace under pressure. This position reports to the Director of Community and will work closely with the Director of Social Media and Community Programs Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, manage, and execute community calendar for Defiance, including all messaging across official channels
Coordinate with production and web development teams to help plan and develop community and website features (forums, content systems, etc.)
Review, author, and coordinate the release of internal and external messaging
Communicate directly with players, building strong relationships and maintaining a visible external presence on official channels, in external communities, and with key influencers
Monitor forums and other communication media to identify common player issues and discussion patterns; create reports and other routine methods of conveying this feedback to dev and other appropriate departments, tracking progress and fan response
Manage all aspects of alpha and beta testing such as recruiting, participation, feedback, and analysis
Help define and maintain the community strategy including methods for engagement, moderation policies, content building, and outreach initiatives
Maintain a constant communication-and-feedback loop with marketing, PR, and dev; be the advocate internally on behalf of the players to ensure player needs are met
Coordinate with PR and marketing as well as the Senior Social Media Manager to conceptualize and execute community-facing initiatives including contests, volunteer programs, offline events, convention presence, and email campaigns
Compile and distribute weekly and monthly community-related metric reports ensuring upwards visibility as well as helping inform what metrics are valuable
Responsible for growing all key community metrics and overall site engagement in North America
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of community management experience
Active participant in MMOs and online shooters
Must have a solid understanding of new media, social networking, and cutting edge community tools and techniques, and must be personally involved in at least one social media platform
Must have a proven and demonstrable track record for building communities focused around a brand or product
Must have worked previously on cross-platform titles
Hardworking, goal-oriented self-starter with a strong passion for online gaming, online communities, and social networking
Strong writing skills
