The Compensation and Benefits Manager will participate in or lead several key projects, including: design and administration of Availity?s compensation and benefits programs and provide broad spectrum of compensation and benefits support. The Compensation and Benefits Manager will conduct or participate in compensation surveys, maintain job description library and evaluate jobs using established evaluation systems. As compensation systems expert, will partner in the design, research, and maintenance of performance and compensation information system. The Compensation and Benefits Manager will serve as liaison with outside insurance carriers or other vendors/agencies relative to the compensation and benefits function. Additionally, this position will provide technical and consultative assistance to HR business partners and managers on the design, implementation, administration and communication of compensation and benefits programs. The Compensation and Benefits Manager will provide support for HR initiatives and projects; perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Design and Administer Broad-based Compensation Program
Assist/lead in the development and implementation of a compensation infrastructure including job evaluation, market pricing/survey participation, salary structures, and job benchmarking/slotting.
Evaluate positions using established evaluation processes/systems, determine compensation targets and prepare records of the validity of the evaluations.
Consult with management on job specifications and requirements, evaluate new and revised job descriptions to determine appropriate classifications and salary ranges as well as FLSA determination.
Present and ?sell? improvements to existing pay programs and new compensation practices and tools.
Utilize auditing skills to review and ensure compensation policies and programs are compliant with applicable regulations.
Collaborate with HR business partners on salary determination issues for new hires, promotions, transfers, changes, and other compensation actions.
Plan, execute, and assist in the management of performance appraisal program and merit program, assisting employees and managers with online evaluation process.
Administer compensation-related systems and prepare management reports and analytics.
Prepare EEO, AAP and other related reports.
Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws governing compensation practices.
Administer Benefits and Leave of Absence Programs
Assist in benefits plan design.
Administer and maintain all benefits including life, STD, LTD, health, dental, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) program, employee assistance, and tuition reimbursement.
Coordinate and conduct annual enrollment meetings.
Administer and track all leave of absence programs and communicates appropriately with employees and/or managers.
Conduct training regarding benefits changes, benefit-related communications including the update of guides, summary plan descriptions, etc.
Process and reconcile all benefits billing and request associated payment assists employees with benefit claim administration inquiries.
Prepare all compliance related forms and reports including but not limited to Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports, etc.
Analyze benefit cost containment strategies.
Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws governing benefits practices.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Required)
8 or more years compensation and benefits functional experience
Financial acumen and proven ability to develop costing analysis modeling
Strong analytic skills, communications (verbal and written) skills and problem solving skills
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) with extensive Excel experience
Ability to handle major processes, tasks and issues in implementing and administering compensation and benefits programs
Strategic agility with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to drive change
Ability to work independently in identifying and resolving issues, concerns and problems and manage multiple priorities on an ongoing basis while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners
Ability to focus and flexibly jump between projects and meet established deadlines
Strong vendor relationship skills
Ability to interact and consult with senior management
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Required)
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent working experience

CCP or SPHR or PHR Certification
