The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and managing all aspects of the Company?s regulatory compliance program, including those portions related to compliance with state money transmitter laws, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions programs, state and federal privacy laws and other relevant consumer protection laws.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Develop and manage the Company?s compliance program, including all policies, procedures, forms and monitoring systems. Conduct periodic BSA/OFAC enterprise risk assessments, recommend required changes to compliance program, and implement adopted changes. Establish standards and guidelines for the review of unusual or suspicious activity, as well as standards for filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Review results of investigations and make final decision with respect to filing SARs.
? Develop process and assemble resources necessary to continuously identify and remain current with all of the Company?s compliance obligations, including those related to compliance with state money transmitter laws, the BSA, OFAC sanctions programs, state and federal privacy laws and other relevant consumer protection laws, and maintain current working knowledge of each.
? Support business units in researching legal and regulatory compliance issues. Serve as an expert to provide compliance advice and guidance to business areas addressing unique or new compliance questions, development of new products and/or delivery systems or modifying existing ones and identifying any compliance related issues and/or new compliance requirements.
? Inform and educate business units, senior management and the Board of Directors regarding all compliance responsibilities. Supervise and coordinate appropriate periodic compliance training for Company personnel and the Board of Directors.
? Manage all aspects of regulatory examinations and interactions with regulatory agencies.
? Manage, develop and motivate Compliance Department personnel. Establish performance goals and objectives; assign tasks; monitor employee progress on specified projects; execute process and talent assessments.
Perform supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff in accordance with the Company?s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor?s degree in business or related field (master?s or law degree preferred); Minimum of 10 years of compliance experience in the payments, billing, or financial services industry, and at least 5 years of experience dealing with BSA/OFAC compliance matters in a senior management role.
