Freescale has a number of opportunities for Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) Software Engineering internships. CIM) at Freescale is pushing the boundaries of what is possible at the interface between people, data and machines. CIM solutions provide automation, control, tracking and reporting capabilities that enable manufacturing to meet challenging goals in the areas of cost, quality, cycle time and delivery. CIM team members develop and maintain software solutions that enable our world-class manufacturing processes.
Available internships within Computer Integrated Manufacturing are described below. Each position works closely with stakeholders in CIM and Manufacturing to understand requirements and opportunities to help Freescale meet its goals. Each member of our capable development staff shares in maintaining our legacy software as we go through the process of extending and evolving our applications.
User Interfaces and Industrial Engineering Systems Team: This individual will assist in the design, implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance of new and legacy mobile, desktop, web and service-oriented applications. These applications form the front-end to a world-class manufacturing execution system that has won numerous awards and industry recognition for its capabilities and robustness. The team uses Agile methodologies such as continuous integration and automated testing to ensure fast delivery of working software. The team also uses many leading technologies such as Grails, Hibernate, Java, Spring, JQuery, Tibco and Oracle on the Linux and Windows platforms.
Equipment Integration: This individual will assist in the design, analysis, testing, implementation, and sustaining of equipment automation capabilities within the computer integrated manufacturing environment. These capabilities include remote control, monitoring, and data acquisition of 200mm semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Our team uses leading edge technologies such as .NET, XML/XSLT, C++, Java, and Oracle on both Windows and Unix platforms. We use Agile, test-driven methodologies to deliver applications that execute 24x7x365 on 1600+ fab tools with over 99% availability.
Statistical Process Control: This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for defining the architecture and the implementation of Statistical Process Control artifacts to monitor and aid in the semiconductor manufacturing process. These SPC techniques and system contribute to better process and product performance by enabling process engineers to a) Control of the process through automated data collection, and b) Eliminate scrap and misprocessing by automatically monitoring for anomalous conditions in process and measurement data.
Advance Process Control: The This individual will be responsible for implementing Feedback Control and Fault Detection algorithms for a) reducing process variation and improving yield, b) collecting in-situ process and system trace information for fault detection and classification of abnormal situations that might lead to misprocessing, and c) System and process modeling to aid in the Feedback Control and Fault Detection efforts.
Manufacturing Execution Systems: This individual will assist in the design, implementation, testing, documentation, maintenance and improvement of our customized Manufacturing Execution System suite, and in the analysis, improvement and enhancement of the execution environment where these systems run. The applications coordinate and control the processing of material in our wafer fabrication, semiconductor assembly and semiconductor test factories around the world. Our team designs and maintains systems that operate in a 24x7x365 environment, and particular emphasis is placed on system robustness and uptime. Our team develops and maintains both commercially available off the shelf products, systems developed on commercial and open source platforms, and systems developed wholly in house. We us tools such as Java, C, C++, Fortran, Oracle, JDBC, and others on platforms including Windows, Linux, and OpenVMS.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, with a GPA of 3.25 or higher
Experience with database environments
Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating system
Experience with any of the above mentioned software tools
