DSC is rapidly growing and we have an opening for a Embedded Software Engineer in our Chantilly, VA location. Qualified candidates must be able to work well in a small company atmosphere and have excellent communication skills.
Position Summary:
The role of the Computer Vision Engineer is to develop and implement algorithms to solve video-based object tracking and signal processing problems, critical to DSC?s electro-optic surveillance systems. The Computer Vision Engineer works closely with developers, engineers and scientists to optimize signal and image processing between complex hardware and software systems. Work under minimal supervision with other engineers and scientists to develop and implement new and improved system capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Develop and implement algorithms for real-time object detection and tracking
? Work with others to adapt and optimize R&D algorithms to production-quality software
? Develop simulations and regression test system for analysis of algorithm performance
? Work with the software team to accelerate internal timelines
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
At least 5-10 years experience designing, writing, and testing embedded real-time C/C++ software, and designing algorithms in MATLAB
Experience in product development using computer vision and image processing algorithms:
o In particular, object tracking and feature extraction algorithms (e.g. Lucas-Kanade, Camshift, Extended Kalman Filtering)
o Practical work experience in understanding and integrating OpenCV algorithms into applications.
o Familiarity with CV research and state-of-the-art practical object detection/tracking algorithms
Experience working in a collaborative SW environment (SDLC, Agile SCRUM).
Excellent problem solving, debug, and lab skills. Must understand hardware / software integration.
Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance by the U.S. Government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
Desired Qualifications:
Pattern recognition / machine learning experience: e.g. SVMs, AdaBoost, cascades.
Education: MSEE, MSCS, MS ECE, or PhD
Experience with Python
Experience with multicore DSP
