DSC is rapidly growing and we have an opportunity for a Computer Vision Engineer in our Engineering group at our Chantilly, VA location. Qualified candidates must be able to work well in a small company atmosphere and have excellent communication skills.
A Computer Vision Engineer at DSC develops and implements algorithms to solve video-based object tracking and signal processing problems, critical to our electro-optic surveillance systems. Your analytic and mathematical talents will be challenged to optimize signal and image processing between complex hardware and software systems. Working in a collaborative team environment, you will develop and implement new and improved system capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Roll-up your sleeves to develop and implement new algorithms and approaches for real-time object detection and tracking
Plan and work with others to adapt and optimize R&D algorithms to production-quality software
Develop simulations and regression test system for analysis of algorithm performance
Drive with the software team to accelerate internal timelines
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
5-10 years experience designing algorithms in MATLAB
Experience in commercial product development using computer vision and video analytics:
o In particular, object tracking and feature extraction algorithms (e.g. Lucas-Kanade, Camshift, Extended Kalman Filtering)
Pattern recognition / machine learning experience: e.g. SVMs, AdaBoost, cascades.
Comfortable with CV research and state-of-the-art practical object detection/tracking algorithms
Loves working in a collaborative SW environment (SDLC, Agile SCRUM).
Excellent problem solving, development and debugging skills.
Education: MSEE, MSCS, MS ECE, or PhD
5-10 years experience designing, writing, and testing embedded real-time C/C++ software
Experience with face detection
Practical work experience in understanding and integrating OpenCV algorithms into applications.
Familiarity with DSP and embedded development
Understanding of hardware / software integration.
Ability to frequently sit, and reach within hands and arm?s length.
Regularly required to use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, etc.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.
