Position Overview
The Configuration Engineer will be a key member of the team in the development Vendavo customer solutions. He/she will work closely with the Lead configuration Engineer to implementing functional and technical design specifications and participate in a close technical team, in the application configuration efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely in a technical team of technical resources in the design and configuration of Vendavo modules
- Responsible for working with others in GSD and engineering groups for the resolution of technical issues
- Work with customer IT resources and complete the project in the most efficient method
- Should be willing to have a 25% travel commitment as part of project implementations to anywhere in US. Global travel flexibility would certainly be preferred but not mandatory
- At least 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in software development and/programming
- Strong Java/J2EE coding and development experience. Experience must include application development on Internet technologies like HTTP, HTML, WebServices, SOAP, Java Script, etc
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in person, by telephone, and with large teams
- Proficient in XML and SQL
- In-depth knowledge of back-end databases, either Oracle or DB2 is mandatory. Both would be preferred.
- Ability to work on a large scale project implementation
- Working knowledge on any one of the following application servers [latest versions] is preferred: Weblogic, WebSphere, NetWeaver, JBoss
- Understanding of development methodology and development life-cycle
- Familiarity with tools such as Eclipse IDE, Perl, Ant, etc
- Prior experience with projects spanning over 1 year with not less than 6-months in an onsite-offshore co-ordination model
- Work well in a team of not less than four members in one prior project in a customer facing role
- Requires Masters in CS/CE/IT or equivalent plus 1- 3 years experience or Bachelors in CS/CE/IT or equivalent plus 2-3 years experience
