DSC is rapidly growing and we have an opening for a Configuration Management Analyst in our Chantilly, VA location. Qualified candidates must be able to work well in a small company atmosphere and have excellent communication skills.
The role of the Configuration Management Analyst is to work hands on with CM Manager, Product Development, Product Management, and Production Team members to support DSC?s Configuration Management plan. Interacts with all levels of the organization under general supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support key corporate standards. These standards include (at a minimum) Model Numbering, Part Numbering, Document Numbering, and Versioning.
Assume responsibility for existing Model Numbering, Part Numbering, Document Numbering, & Versioning standards
Review existing standards, determine possible improvements, & create ?improvement plans? (if necessary)
Review and update engineering drawings with respect to tolerancing and ANSI Standards.
Champion the Standards, educate internal team on use of Standards, roll out practical strategy for using Standards
Provide ongoing Configuration Control support throughout the product lifecycle.
Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO?s) through the ECO lifecycle (submission to release)
Coordinate the release (and assure compliance) of all ECO based Product deviations (through Manufacturing)
Submit changes to Engineering and achieve approval (changes are implemented correctly)
Associates Degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology
5+ years total experience in Product Development & Production Roles (Development, Test, CM, QA/QC, Assembly)
3+ years exclusive experience in formalized Configuration Management roles
Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments that produce OEM type products
Familiarity with ANSI Standards
Knowledge of product based (electrical, optical, mechanical, software) Configuration Management principles
Experience with electrical and mechanical drawing standards essential
Possess excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Self motivated individual that can work independently under general supervision and guidance
Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to perform varied tasks in a disciplined & consistent manner
Ability to quickly grasp new technologies while adapting to frequent changes in assignment and business direction
Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology
7+ years total experience in Product Development/Manufacturing roles (Development, Test, CM, QA/QC, Assembly)
5+ years exclusive experience in formalized Configuration Management roles
Familiarity with geometric tolerance (GTOL)
Experience with 3D CAD Software such as SolidWorks and/or PKM systems such as AGILE or Windchill
Experience incorporating Engineering redline changes into new drawing revisions
Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, etc.; occasionally required to bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.
Individual?s primary workstation is located in an office area with ability to frequently work in a manufacturing/lab environment.
The noise level in this environment is low/moderate.
