Description -
To be responsible for the coordination and supervision of various environmental compliance activities (land, air, and water) for several construction projects. To provide leadership, communication, and develop partnerships with multiple internal and external customers in order to successfully fulfill the expected Environmental, Safety, and/or Health (ES&H) objectives of the company.
-Will work with Construction personnel, Contractors, Plant Management Teams, ES&H Auditors, and potentially government agencies, etc. in order to coordinate all necessary environmental activities.
-Ensures that the construction of all infrastructure complies with environmental permit language.
-Interface with Contractors & company employees to advise them of all on-site environmental concerns such as waste disposal, spill containment, erosion controls, fugitive emissions, etc.
-Verify Contractors have the required environmental (air, waste, etc.) permits and training to complete their work.
-Works with corporate Environmental Services, Plant Environmental Coordinators, & the ISO/Audit Teams to support our company?s zero Enforcement Actions goal for all projects.
-Develops environmental guidelines, site inspection checklists, submit reports, and provide training to best ensure company compliance with all regulations for our on-site contractors & company personnel.
-Provides environmental assessment feedback and corrective action assistance to Construction and Contractor site personnel/management, as well to all other ES&H team members.
-Supports the development of our Construction Environmental Program which is based on ISO 14001, assists in making Safety & Health our #1 priority, and performs any & all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Minimum of an Associate?s Degree in Environmental Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or other related Science field. However, a B.S. is preferable.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in the Environmental, Safety, & Health (ES&H) field. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills are also necessary.
Schedule: Must be capable of working a 40 hour work week with some overtime and frequent travel required. Full travel costs and per diem will be paid in accordance with our construction travel policy
