ClearEdge Power is a world leader in fuel cell technology. We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented, team player to join our stationary fuel cell installation team as a level 1/ junior project manager/estimator.
Individual must have the ability to multi-task including performing the function of assisting the project managers of multiple post-contract installation projects.
Support the up-front project proposal activity under the direction of a senior project management, to include:
Assisting project development providing guidance on installation issues and /or by organizing contractors for pre-contract walk throughs
Review RFPs thoroughly and ask follow-up questions to ensure a detailed understanding of the scope of work
Develop relevant requests for information to ensure adequate knowledge of project requirements and to minimize exclusions
Attend & provide feedback at concept design reviews and lead estimate reviews
Work with cost reduction team for current product and advanced program team to develop standard installation methods for future products
Support the installation effort under the direction of a senior project manager to insure projects are completed on time, within budget and meet all customer and regulatory requirements, work includes:
Reading, understanding and properly executing, under the direction of project managers, the customer contract
Assisting the selection of subcontractors (designers, electricians, mechanical, plumbing, etc) and evaluating the quality of work they perform via requests for quotes to Supply Chain, bid reviews, insuring work conforms with the terms & conditions of the subcontractor agreements and providing actionable feedback
Assist the site design effort to insure equipment is properly designed into the site, interface with external designers, internal Site Design, Aftermarket Services and the customer, insure all design reviews are complete and action items closed out
Assist the installation construction effort including interfacing with contractors, municipalities, utilities and the end customer, from permitting through start up and completion of requirements for commercial operation, insuring unit is installed per the reviewed site design
Working with internal organizations such as Finance, Planning, Aftermarket Services & Supply Chain to keep our internal processes up to date and functional
Track and report changes to project financials including processing change orders as necessary
Maintain all project documentation, assist in providing close out packages to customer, and providing Aftermarket Services all necessary information for on-going service contract, close out and archive internal project file
Provide updates and meeting minutes on all project activity by attending multiple weekly installation coordination meetings and a weekly supply chain coordination meeting.
Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management
Develop and maintain standard tools and work instructions necessary to produce repeatable, high quality, project installations. Work may include defining web based tool requirements, obtaining and setting up tool for use by the team.
Develop and conduct site design and contractor training.
Performance will be measured relative to the accuracy of the quality of the execution of planned work scope to schedule and budget requirements, and by the rigor and discipline shown in effectively balancing conflicting stakeholder expectations.
Successful candidate will have project management and organizational experience, knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications and building codes is a plus but can be provided to the right candidate. Strong customer relations and contract management skills will be required.
BS in Engineering or BS in Construction Management
1-3 years experience in Project Management
Project Management Training Certification preferred
Experience in Microsoft Project Schedule or Primavera Scheduling Software
Candidate will be required to complete 30 hours of OSHA training for contractor certification
