Blu Homes, a high-tech modern eco-friendly homes company, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager. Blu is the leading designer and manufacturer of environmentally friendly precision-built homes, and offers a broad product line of homes buildings available across the US and North America (www.bluhomes.com).This position will report to the Director of Site Operations. The successful candidate will manage construction projects across the Western US. S/he will maintain high-level as well as granular oversight of the successful execution of multiple projects involving managing project teams (consisting of representatives from sales, design, manufacturing and finance).
Key Responsibilities:
Performing client site visits and assessments, scheduling, budgeting, interactions with local building and planning departments, permitting processes, coordination with local general contractors and other activities.
Very strong organization, management, and scheduling skills are essential to the position.
Able to create nurturing, positive relationships with regulatory bodies, state and local permit offices, and consultants, as well as similar relationships across Blu?s multiple offices and departments;
Regular short-term travel is required.
Key Requirements:
Experience in residential or commercial construction project management;
Strong communications skills; timeliness, organized, and high attention to detail;
Independent and strong work ethic ? ability to manage various projects effectively and simultaneously;
Meticulous attention to numbers and experience in quantitative work in Microsoft Excel and project scheduling using Microsoft Project;
Personable, friendly, and down to earth manner;
Focus on tasks accomplished;
Analytical approach & intellectual curiosity;
Collaborative team player;
Handles difficult situations in a relaxed and proactive way;
Self-confidence, tact, and respectfulness in dealing with clients;
Equally comfortable in business casual attire or construction overalls.
Experience:
10+ years experience; relevant work experience in construction management, building materials, design, home building, the prefab home industry, green products, or other similar experience.
Minimum BS degree in construction management or engineering such as civil, mechanical, or structural.
Have or able to obtain GC License in required states.
Residential construction experience is a plus.
Compensation: Salary based on experience, plus stock options, and benefits package.
