About the Job
The following is a representative description of the position?s role and responsibilities. Reflecting the flexible nature of our work, Nexant will adjust this description as necessary to meet operating and strategic needs of its business.
Your primary focus will be on maximizing personal and team billability while meeting client needs on time and on budget. You will contribute to business development primarily through the successful completion of project assignments, up selling through existing projects, proposal writing and awareness building through writing articles and participating in conferences. You will work in a team environment and will apply your economic, econometric and problem solving skills across the spectrum of Nexant assignments. You will manage and mentor junior staff and assist in maintaining and enhancing a collegial workplace environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Produce superior quality reports, analysis and recommendations that meet client?s needs
? Manage projects and interface with clients
? Recruit and manage consulting and technical staff as required
? Monitor contract requirements and billing arrangements
? Integrate your work with others in the firm to maximize opportunity
? Mentor junior professional staff
? Assist with and/or lead proposal writing and other business development activities
? Other duties as necessary to ensure excellent client service.
Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or other fields that provide training for quantifying policy impacts
2-5 years of work experience in consulting, preferably in the energy industry
Experience and/or knowledge of Demand Side Management (i.e. energy efficiency, demand response, and solar) in the power sector
Robust statistical and econometric analysis knowledge and skills, particularly in the areas of time series, panel/longitudinal data, and discrete choice modeling
Complex spreadsheet modeling and risk analysis capabilities
Excellent written and oral presentation skills
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
