About the Job
We are currently seeking a Consultant for Nexant?s Consulting Business Unit. in our White Plains, NY office. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in technology and market evaluation in the energy sector and will contribute to winning work and developing client accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participation as a core member of engagement teams, with a focus on study execution
Market Nexant's consulting services to North American and Latin clients
Develop and/or maintain familiarity with selected segments of the industry, including renewables, refining, gas processing, links to petrochemicals
Interact with and support other Nexant consulting offices and project teams
Liaise with clients to manage project deliverables
Help maintain and extend Nexant?s recognized brand leadership in industry-focused consultancy covering commercial, techno-economic and strategic analysis. Typically, this is achieved through preparation of conference papers, and press articles as well as personal relationships
Primary degree in a subject relevant to the energy industry (for example engineering, chemistry, economics). Higher degree in relevant subject is a plus (Masters, PhD, MBA)
5-10 years of industry experience with a specific technical and/or commercial focus in the hydrocarbon processing, chemicals or renewables industries
Working experience with an industry company, with time at a top industry or management consultancy a major plus
Knowledge of process simulation (e.g. using Aspen Plus) a major plus
Experience with issues associated with scale-up from pilot to commercial scale also a major plus
Excellent presentation and confident report writing skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with clients
Positive and flexible attitude
Excellent verbal communication skills in English
Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness
IT skills including word processing, advanced knowledge of Excel, and use of databases
Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities
