Stratus is seeking a Consulting Product Manager, to be responsible for strategy, life cycle delivery and success for Stratus? primary fault tolerant product line, ftServer.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be the product owner for the ftServer product line, operating systems, and accompanying options.
Own the product roadmap as well as the volume, revenue, and profit targets for the business.
Be the product expert and authority for products with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
Provide market and customer insight.
Perform thorough market research and competitive analysis to understand and develop a competitive strategy for the marketplace and product positioning.
Provide customer-centric view, market intelligence, and business-driven support and leadership to the team including marketing, sales, and engineering.
Lead message strategy and execution of communications to drive awareness and accelerate customer demand.
Lead, develop and execute go-to-market planning for product messaging and positioning, including product collateral, website content for product launches, and ongoing multi-touch marketing campaigns.
Lead cross functional core team that will drive product lifecycle process through concept phase, implementation, validation, production and end of life (EOL).
Collaborate with engineering, customer service, and supply chain management to deliver required product on time and on budget that meets the needs of the market.
Regularly meet with customers and partner to act as voice of the customer.
Develop market requirements document for future products, maintain/prioritize feature backlog, and drive win/loss analysis.
Define user personas while tracking industry, product developments, and innovations.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
High energy, change agent able to positively push through challenges while building consensus.
Strong understanding of enterprise service market as well as Windows, Linux, and VMware with a focus on high availability computing including storage and networking.
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
Proven program management and marketing skills. Experience with Pragmatic Marketing or similar methodology desired.
Successful track record of leading successful product launches.
Technical depth and expertise required to interact in detail with engineering, support, and professional services teams for design and specification development.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with prospects and customers including the ability to actively listen, comprehend, and communicate their business and technical needs from a customer centric point of view.
Demonstrated ability to be a thought leader on both business and technical issues related to products and markets.
Ability to think strategically, analytically and to 'think outside the box.'
Team player with strong communications, interpersonal, persuasive and negotiation skills. Thinks collaboratively and communicates effectively with people at all levels. Ability to instill a sense of shared vision and urgency.
Proficiency in both inbound product management and out bound product marketing.
Entrepreneurial drive and work ethnic, self-motivated, results oriented with demonstrated ability to add value and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to execute as an individual contributor and willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve the common objective.
BS/BA required, MBA or advanced technical engineering degree preferred, with 7+ years experience in IT industry including systems management, servers and high-availability or real-time systems.
Ability to quickly build credibility and confidence cross-functionally and with upper management.
