Gnip Consulting Services is a team of social data experts tasked to help our customers maximize their use of social data by helping them overcome technical and analytical challenges and serving as an extension of their staff. In short, we help our customers succeed by bringing our domain expertise to bear on strategic and tactical challenges.
We do this by helping the market better understand how to work across social data sources and to develop best practices around the technology required to ingest and analyze social data. We work with our clients on custom projects and through a portfolio of standard service offerings including strategic trainings as well as research and development projects.
We are hiring a Consultant who will contribute across several Consulting Services functions including leading strategic engagements with Gnip?s customers to identify pain points, propose solutions, define and execute analyses, and communicate results.
A successful candidate will come with or quickly develop a deep understanding of the broader social data ecosystem as well as specific use cases for social data. She will work closely with Gnip's sales and account management organization, Gnip's product team and Gnip's engineering team to help identify and bridge any gaps between a customer's needs and Gnip's current offerings.
Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
Drive to dig in to technical elements of an integration or application deployment, and be able to rapidly identify risks, issues and their impact.
Ability to grasp complex technical and analytical concepts and quickly connect the dots between a customer's business needs and Gnip product and services solutions.
Ability to engage directly with a diverse group of stakeholders and a high-level of comfort communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences; as well as strategic and high-level business considerations to technical audiences.
Knowledge of social data analytics (protocols, formats, best practices)
10+ years of experience in a consulting or professional services environment; experience with software development and "big data" applications a plus
Experience managing large, custom deployments for external clients - either in web application or API environments.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technically oriented stakeholders like software engineers and data scientists.
Demonstrated programming experience is a plus, particularly with Ruby, Python, or R.
Experience and comfort working in an Agile environment.
Travel (including international travel) will be required.
Take lead as key point of contact between Gnip customers and prospects focusing on Consulting Service solutions. This individual will often be the first person at Gnip to engage our customers and prospects after an initial sales call.
Translate customer business needs and map to Gnip solutions.
Identify consulting service opportunities, scope and propose targeted solutions, manage and execute on-going projects, communicate results to clients and other market stakeholders.
Contribute to developing Gnip?s strategic training curriculum designed to help Gnip customers better understand how to integrate social data into their organizations and products.
Contribute to delivering strategic training sessions designed to help Gnip customers enhance their core competencies in social analytics and to identify opportunities for Gnip to work strategically with our clients.
Work across Gnip teams (sales, engineering, data science, and support) to find optimal solutions to customer challenges. Forge and maintain frequent and clear lines of cross-team communication about ongoing projects, evolving customer needs and coordinate contributions from each team.
