Consulting Resource Manager, Americas
The Consulting Resource Management, a newly created role, is responsible for defining, executing and managing strategies that optimize the use of consulting resources.
The role has full responsibility for managing day to day operations and resources of the Resource management organization.
This position helps develop programs, policies and processes to drive consistency and support achievement of the organization's mission, strategy and goals while ensuring that current and evolving needs of internal customers are met. Plans, implements and maintains budget for area of responsibility. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to achieve business plans.
The influence of the Resource Management organization will be to maximize the utilization of consultants, balancing the use of local resources, proposing consultants for engagements in other regions or sub-contracted to third parties, or leveraging third parties, all with the objective of optimizing supply and demand of consulting resources, and ultimately utilization.
Key Activities
1. Work Management
· Responsible for the overall organization's resource management service order process. Develops and implements processes for consultant service order lifecycle management
· Proactively monitors data integrity audits for systems, and drives correction of data in a timely manner to ensure information provided to management team is accurate
§ Ensures resourcing team is maximizing consultant utilization by proposing matches of current/future bench consultants with engagement opportunities
§ Monitors and analyzes trends in Resource Management KPIs. Makes recommendations on mitigation strategies when not achieving targets
§ Proactively identifies resource issues and manages internal customer escalations by suggesting solutions
§ Proactively monitors Resource Management compliance with agreed to service levels
§ Leads programs that enhance Resource Management overall operational effectiveness
§ Partners horizontally across the organization to break down silos and assure smooth work flow
§ Drives consistency in resource management practices globally.
§ Assists in development of Resource Management strategy and business plans
2. Organization contribution
§ Establishes documents and facilitates adoption of best practices for resource management activities. (e.g. resource searches, screening, and matching recommendations, business partnership, etc)
§ Leads the development and implementation of systems, programs and processes that enhance Resource Management to support the organization's business strategy
§ Ensures team adheres to appropriate methodologies to accomplish assigned work product; consistently utilizes best practices and ensure compliance to all standards
§ Ensures Resourcing team participates in Practice Management professional communities, where applicable to job role
§ Fosters collaboration and strategic thinking skills within the consulting team
3. Professional Development
§ Demonstrates clear understanding of own performance expectations
§ Partners with manager to create and execute on annual objectives and individual employee career plans.
§ Achieves and maintains high-level leadership skills
4. Leadership
§ Develops hiring plans to meet budget for organization
§ Leads recruiting efforts for direct report positions, including job posting, screening, interviewing and hiring
§ Develops appropriate on-boarding plans for new hires
§ Works with employees to set annual objectives
§ Coaches and mentors managers (and/or all direct reports) to meet performance expectations
§ Delivers on-time performance appraisals for all direct reports
§ Works with management to plan and take appropriate action on poor performers
§ Assists employees in developing and executing their individual career development plans
§ Conducts regular and frequent communication with team and addresses concerns.
§ Solicits employee feedback on organizational initiatives and communicates back up to next level, as appropriate
§ Fosters a sense of “team†unity and promotes a positive work environment
§ Assesses current team skills profile and develops team hiring and training plan to support the departmental strategy
§ Ensures fair and equitable compensation practices across Resource Management that supports corporate pay-for-performance philosophy
5. Financial Management and Administration
· Manages organization's headcount and costs within targeted goals
· Ensures team compliance with corporate policies and processes (e.g. Timecards, vacation reporting, performance reviews, expenses, etc.)
· Participates in HR processes, per internal guidelines (e.g. Performance management, base focal review, bonus recommendations, etc);
· Consistently submits team metrics and reporting in a timely and accurate manner
Preferred Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
§ At least 10 years of progressive relevant experience, of which at least 5 years should be in a software-consulting environment, and at least 2 years managing a professional services resource management organization.
§ Middle management experience relevant to the size of organization to be managed.

§ Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required
