THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Customer Insights Analyst will be responsible for rigorous analysis of customer behavior, reporting to the Senior Manager in the Customer Analytics team. The analyst will work cross-functionally within Marketing and across the organization to develop analytical solutions supporting a deeper understanding of a Customer Lifetime Value, cross-shopping effects and cross-sell/up-sell opportunities. S/he will be helping Category leaders understand Customer Personas, how customers shop within and across the categories, what are the main triggers of new category purchase, what are the right times to start promoting a new category to a customer, as well as helping to bring category-specific insights with the overall Gilt Customer view.
Deliver actionable strategic and tactical insights using data and sound analytic methods.
Develop predictive models and robust segmentation schemas to address business needs in the areas of cross-sell/up-sell and overall engagement
Design strategies and methodologies to mine complex data sources for strategic insights
Answer data-related business questions in a timely manner utilizing a variety of available Business Intelligence tools
Support the following primary research functions:
Programming and checking of electronic surveys
Data collection management
Design/check of data tabulations and report writing
We seek a person who is passionate about analytics and research, and believes in power of insight to drive the business forward. S/he possesses the following traits:
Innate curiosity about consumer behavior and ability to derive insights from complex data sets to recommend improvements to business
Comfortable presenting complex information in an easy to understand digestible manner
Ability to tell a story from the data, speaking before large audiences with various levels of understanding in the analytics area
Ability to prioritize multiple competing requests
Comfortable with ambiguity and has a solutions-focused approach to data science
Experience working with very large data sets to perform exploratory analysis and to construct relevant variables and perform sample design.
Has technical expertise in all aspects of model development, validation and performance analysis
3-5 years hands-on experience in the area of statistical analysis
Direct experience with predictive modeling (response, acquisition, retention), segmentation and data-dimension reduction tools.
Deep understanding of various regression techniques, decision tree algorithms, cluster and factor analyses.
High level of proficiency with SAS, R or other statistical package.
Strong knowledge of SQL and Excel (Cognos a plus).
Excellent organizational skills, attention to details, ability to multi-task.
Experience working cross functionally with both highly technical and analytic resources and those that have limited statistical and math training.
Degree in Statistics, Math, Economics, Operations Research, Sociology, Psychology or other related discipline, graduate degree is a plus.
