The Consumer Marketing Director will lead the marketing and branding efforts for LIVESTRONG.COM. This position is located in Santa Monica, CA and will report to the VP of Consumer Marketing.
As the Consumer Marketing Director you establish the marketing focus for the LIVESTRONG.COM brand. You will own the overall consumer marketing effort for the site which includes developing marketing plans to drive user engagement and creating a distinct product/brand positioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead all consumer marketing efforts including strategy & program development for LIVESTRONG.COM
- Partner with Sales and Content to deliver premier marketing opportunities for partners and sales initiatives
- Partner with PR to develop appropriate messaging and campaign ideas to reach out to key market influencers
- Partner with the site GM, product management, editorial and other cross-functional counterparts to improve and drive product innovation, leveraging consumer insights and business knowledge
- Build brand development & stewardship including measuring & tracking brand recall, sentiment & effectiveness
- Leverage and facilitate consumer research (demographic & site level)
- Marketing program development including creating online/offline brand extension opportunities
- Maximize available social media tools to build community, market, create advocacy, influence and inform
- Leverage community and viral product features including the newsletter to socialize the brand to the appropriate outlets and audiences.
Requirements
- Passion for fitness, health, lifestyle or other high touch consumer experiences
- Online consumer marketing experience with a health or fitness property a plus
- 5-10 years of online and offline marketing experience with at least 3 years in online
- Strong experience in all marketing disciplines with proven success in launching consumer web-based products or services and managing consumer marketing campaigns
- Proven brand builder who has been involved in creating or rapidly growing consumer brands
- Proven track record developing creative marketing events / programs that create PR opportunities
- Superior ability to drive market research strategy and projects with a solid track record of turning research findings into actionable product and marketing insights
- Ability to guide or generate ad/product marketing copy as necessary
- Both highly creative and analytically disciplined
- Must be solutions oriented, innovative, and willing to explore and invent new marketing ideas
- Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree required
