Under close supervision, responsible for responding to multiple incoming calls from patients regarding accounts.
Answer multiple incoming telephone lines to respond to patient questions.
Review patient account information to answer questions regarding patient responsibility, insurance information and charges.
Summarize and document patient calls.
Escalate complex issues requiring additional research to next level.
Ensure HIPAA guidelines are followed.
Identify trends /issues and notify Team Lead.
Perform other duties as assigned.
2-3 years of medical experience
Strong knowledge of medical insurance (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid)
Knowledgeable in Excel and Microsoft Outlook as well as other Microsoft Office programs
High school diploma or equivalent
Staffing Hours: Mon-Fri 10:30am to 7pm.
NICE TO HAVE:
2-3 years call center experience
Coding and billing certification or at least general knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding
IDX GroupCast, Flowcast or Centricity experience
Athena, AllScripts, Epic experience
Certification or Bachelor?s degree
High level knowledge of HIPAA security, privacy requirements and PCI
