Overall responsibility:
This position is responsible for supporting the acquisition of and management of relationships with publishers to supply content to ebrarys e-book service. The primary responsibilities of the job are to provide administrative support to the Content Department. Responsibilities include: tracking and reporting on new contracts signed; working with Marketing to promote new publishing partners through press releases, special promotions, a publisher newsletter and the corporate website; maintaining publisher records in Sales Force; creating and distributing reports analyzing the departments progress against goals; creating and distributing content reports to educate and train ProQuest sales representatives; serve as department liaison to PQ sales on consortium purchases, and assist with publisher approvals; facilitate the acquisition of front-list content by securing spreadsheets and files from publishing partners, working with the legal department to organize and distribute contract templates; and under direction from the Vice President, analyze new markets and help execute special projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Content Department Administrative Support
Track new contracts signed against goals. Prepare monthly reports detailing number and type of new contracts signed.
Track front-list acquisition against goals, using reports from ebrary and YBP.
Liaison with the Marketing dept. to help create press releases, special promotions, brochures, newsletters, and to maintain the Publishing Partners section of the corporate website.
Organize and maintain approved contract templates for use by Content department.
Establish and maintain Sales Force accounts for all publishing partners and prospects. Take an active role in adding fields and modifying data-gathering systems to create better, more relevant reports for management.
Create reports, spreadsheets, and online tools to support the training and education of ProQuest sales reps.
Serve as department liaison to PQ sales department for consortium sales. Duties include preparing and modifying title lists, and tracking responses from publishers.
Assist VP and Senior Dir. of Content Development in developing new products and promotions by analyzing current content holdings (by price, subject, business model, etc.) against competition.
Develop publisher sales trend reports from data provided by finance.
Answer day-to-day queries from publishers and elevate problems to management for further discussion if needed.
With Senior Director of CD, research potential markets. Develop a list of targeted publishing partners suitable for Ebrarys audience of academic libraries.
Publisher Relations
Assist Publisher Relations team in securing amendments and letters of agreement from publishing partners.
Assist Publisher Relations team in securing front-list spreadsheets and front-list files from publishing partners.
Assist Publisher Relations team in gathering promotional copy, title projections, and other data or materials from publishers to help promote their titles.
Assist Publisher Relations team in securing approvals for consortium deals from publishing partners.
Gather business intelligence.
Evaluate the suitability of content from publishers who contact Ebrary directly.
Communication with Management and Ebrary Departments
The person in this position must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately to staff at all levels of the company including with the VP of Content Development; the Senior Director of Content Development; and members of the Content, Content Services, Accounting, Legal, and Marketing teams to coordinate strategy and plans effectively across throughout the company. This includes:
Attending and participating in weekly content meetings.
Preparing reports as requested by the Vice President and Senior Director of Content Development
Supplying publisher tracking reports on a regular basis
Posting reports to Ebrarys internal wiki so the company is apprised of Content issues
Working with Marketing to promote publishers titles.
Contributing toward the development of solutions for problems identified by the Content team
Taking responsibility for performing tasks that do not clearly fall within other employees job duties and that are closely related to this positions job duties, or that will contribute toward the success of the Content team.

Flexibility
The VP may modify the job duties for this position from time to time, but will consult with the employee in this position about the changes and provide a written update upon request.
Qualifications:
2+ years general administrative experience.
Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills.
Some formal education preferred.
