Skytap seeks a creative, analytical and high energy Content Managing Editor to manage Skytap?s content marketing strategy and processes, including the day-to-day editorial functions of the company?s content marketing effort. He/she will be vital in supporting the overall marketing goals of Skytap by optimizing and perfecting the processes of creating and curating content for Skytap.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with marketing team on content production; ensure all content is compelling to buyer personas of target audience Establish work flow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing and retiring content
Develop and maintain a quality control process ensuring all content is on-brand, error-free, consistent in style and optimized for search and user experience for all content channels including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person
Leverage market data to develop content themes/topics that educate customers and other target audiences
Oversee the scheduling of all content and manage the content inventories and matrices
Plan the next type of content to be created (i.e. white papers, blogs, case studies, presentations, etc)
Manage and optimize content creation processes, including supervising internal and external teams of writers, editors, content strategists, copywriters, etc; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing and style
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
3-5 years of experience as a managing editor in some capacity for a media company (magazine, newspaper) or a corporate brand, including working as an editor or journalist
Proven experience developing and managing content creation processes
Previous experience working with and/or managing freelancers
Experience editing and maintaining an SEO-optimized site
Fluent with WordPress or other similar CMS platforms
Expertise in all major business software applications (Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, etc)
Experience with creating compelling messages for different target demographics; crisis communications experience a plus Audience development and subscription strategies experience a plus
Success criteria include:
Positive brand recognition and consistency across chosen published channels
An increase in defined customer engagement metrics, measured by users taking the desired action (i.e. conversions, subscriptions, purchases, etc)
Website and social media traffic growth
Social media positive sentiment metrics
Customer feedback and survey data
Increases in key search engine keyword rankings
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field
