Zipcar is currently seeking a Content Marketing Manager to join the Marketing team! Reporting to the Vice President of Brand and Content Marketing, our new team member will be responsible for helping to curate, create and distribute relevant and valuable content to help attract, acquire, engage and convert potential Zipcar members. As a key member of our team, you will help design and optimize content and experiences that drive tangible business value for Zipcar.
We are looking for a creative, customer focused, story teller who is passionate about offering a great member experience across everything we do. In particular, the ideal candidate will have strong experience in digital marketing with a focus on a content-marketing approach and an understanding of related online disciplines including relationship marketing, SEO, SEM, social media, and analytics.
This is a newly created, critical role that incorporates business strategy, marketing planning, execution and optimization, collaborating with team members and vendors to design better member experiences to drive higher conversion, retention and satisfaction rates. The successful candidate will be expected to think and act both strategically and tactically.
Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the VP of Brand & Content Marketing, lead content strategy and implementation: scoping, planning and delivering best in class content and across mediums.
Deliver a cross functional program of activity by managing internal teams to improve content which is on brand, in line with agreed plans, integrated with other brand messaging and effectively placed across internal and external media to engage with target customer segments.
Lead weekly editorial meetings to share best practices and insights, and to help deliver on our vision of providing customers with the right message, at the right time?without bombardment.
Manage the content calendar. Communicate content updates to the wider organization to ensure awareness across corporate and the field.
Manage the creation, development and effective use of engaging content to drive improvements in key metrics.
Maintain a thorough understanding of audience segmentation and tone of voice in driving content strategy.
Drive and execute testing strategy to continuously improve content and messaging.
Support the ongoing development of management reports and dashboards. Interpret insights, and share with relevant internal partners.
Implement best practices to constantly build efficiencies. Regular review of campaign, experience & content to ensure accuracy, functionality, and message continuity.
Oversee analytics and reporting, including identifying the correct KPI?s to track and report while monitoring the ROI for content creation and distribution programs.
Create and maintain regular reports with clear analysis to guide editorial decision making.
Direct vendors in content publishing to meet specified target objectives for the business.
Bachelor?s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English or similar field.
5-7+ years experience in digital marketing, producing marketing communications, managing budgets, meeting performance objectives, and moving projects forward to attain business goals.
Excellent communicator; ability to translate concepts and ideas into compelling content.
Proven analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills; Comfortable with the ambiguity that can accompany a position in a dynamic organization.
Ability to confidently interact with executives and other senior levels of the organization in order to influence, persuade, gain support, input and approvals.
Strong project management skills and strengths in managing multiple projects/deadlines; ability to set priorities and be flexible in changing environments.
Experience working cross-functionally, managing external marketing partners (e.g., marketing agencies and/or web production teams), and internal stakeholders/clients.
