Position Description
Newegg Marketplace is seeking a qualified Content Specialist to improve and develop the quality of content on Newegg Marketplace. Key responsibilities include working with our content management system to manage manufacturer information, work with third parties to improve their existing content on our website, and review content for quality assurance. This position will involve working within a content team who is a part of a much larger company web management division.
Responsibilities:
Research manufacturer information on the Web and other internal sources to establish authoritative information
Research and establish authoritative information for products
Use content management tools to fix or update information
Work with sellers and other third parties to enhance their content on our website
Perform content quality assurance and enhance content for promotional products based on content and website conventions
Help create and maintain internal knowledge management tools such as a content rating/evaluation system for sellers
Assist with other content acquisition and enhancement projects as needed
Initiate and provide input for technical projects with our IT staff to create and improve our internal content management tools
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in any of these preferred disciplines: English/Linguistics, Information/Library Science, Business, Marketing, or Information Systems
Experience working with content management systems or databases a plus
Expert web research skills a must
Basic knowledge of HTML a plus
Solid foundation in Microsoft Excel
Previous data analysis experience and basic knowledge of databases a plus
Previous troubleshooting or Helpdesk experience a plus
Proficiency in English
Ability to tolerate rote and repetitive work on a regular basis
Good communication skills, oral and written
Strong problem-solving abilities
Detail-oriented; strong attention to details required
