Requirements
CONTRACT - HARDWARE TEST TECHNICIAN
Position Description:
The Hardware Test Technician will be responsible for developing test plans, test scripts and test cases, as well as execution of tests for hardware product validation, based on system requirements.
Responsibilities:
Reviews product requirements for completeness, accuracy and testability.
Develops hardware test strategy to accurately measure requirements.
Performs test planning (test cases, test environments, resources, and schedule).
Conducts iterative testing of hardware deliverables.
Executes and assists in the design of environmental and regulatory tests (DO-160, FCC, etc.)
Conducts testing on prototype units using DVMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, RF analyzers, temperature and humidity chambers, and external lab resources, etc.
Designs, develops, documents and assists in building of electrical and mechanical test fixtures for engineering and manufacturing use.
Develops, implements and maintains test automation using Python and/or LabView, and other hardware test tools.
Incorporates product testability into new product design.
Utilizes HP Quality Center to document test cases and test results.
Occasional travel to work with contract developers will be involved, possibly including overseas travel.
Qualifications:
Significant experience leading hardware design test efforts in industrial and/or regulated electronics industries
Hands-on expertise using a variety of electronics test tools, noted above.
Fluency in Python and/or LabView scripting.
Proficiency in Linux operating system environment and use of low-level Linux system tools.
Industry experience in wired and wireless data communication, telecommunication and/or satellite communications.
Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as working inclusively within a multidisciplinary or multicultural team.
Flexibility and a positive attitude towards change in a fast moving environment.
Effectively and regularly communicates and collaborates with direct management and project team, as appropriate.
Familiarity with worst case circuit analysis (WCA), including stress and derating analysis, Failure Modes & Effects Criticality (FMECA), and reliability prediction (MTBF), as applied to circuit design and hardware verification testing is desired.
Minimum experience (industries, years etc)
7 + years of hardware design test experience;
3+ years of experience developing test automation
2+ years of experience leading hardware test teams
Minimum Education required:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
