The primary role of the Contract Manager is to competently analyze the rates,contract terms and conditions to ensure that all assigned contracts are in accordance with the operational policies of Healthcare Solutions as well as applicable legal and compliance requirements. The contract manager is responsible for negotiating new contracts; re-negotiating existing agreements and managing the profitability and revenue associated to an assigned portfolio of workers? compensation and auto-PIP specialty services business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Initiates and conducts contract negotiations for formal long and short term as well as re-negotiation of under-performing agreements
Responsible for drafting,evaluating counter-proposals, negotiating and executing
Works with Finance to manage assigned contract portfolio of existing providers to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as revenue recognition and realization of anticipated margin
Provides guidance on contract matters to Network Development Specialist or other operational staff, including training in contracting practices and procedures
Maintains contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, provider contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents related to contracting activities
Other responsibilities as needed by the Company and Department
Qualifications
Graduation from a four (4) year college or university with a degree in public administration, business management or closely related field is strongly preferred.
Three ? Five years experience in healthcare, preferable managed care contract administration/contract negotiations
Working knowledge of workers? compensation regulations and laws related to contract administration
