Contract Revenue and Cost Manager ePrize
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, the Contract Revenue and Cost Manager will be responsible for all revenue and cost accounting functions relating to projects and contractual arrangements executed within the business, including all billing activity that occurs in conjunction with each contract. Participates in business planning, budgeting process, performing all facets of revenue and cost accounting, including contract review and management.
Description and Responsibilities:
Perform contract draft review to improve revenue recognition and other finance related terms to ensure clarity
Perform ongoing reviews of contract changes to ensure accuracy of revenue and cost recognition
Review and approve sales orders in a timely manner with accuracy
Monitor all prepaid promotion expenses to ensure accurate capitalization and cost recognition of all transactions
Assist in the improvement in internal controls related to prepaid promotion expenses and cost of goods sold
Prepare monthly revenue & cost analysis reports on a consolidated and divisional basis, and other related reports as required
Responsible for month/year end closing activities specific to revenue and cost recognition
Compile cost data for use in developing operating budgets
Prepare and Regularly Review Accounts Receivable, Unbilled Revenue, Prepaid Promotion Expense, and Deferred Revenue accounts and related reconciliations to analyze discrepancies
Assist in the development of monthly, quarterly and yearly P&L reports by project, product, client, and other related dimensions
Support external audit related requests
Assist Finance Manager and Upper Management in producing data for split P&L analysis
Perform special projects or other on demand analysis as requested by the Controller, Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and Senior Leadership Team
Job Specifications and Competencies:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA or CMA designation is preferred, but not required.
Must have a minimum of five years of experience as a Financial Analyst, General Accountant or equivalent position responsible for revenue and cost accounting and analysis.
Must have a good understanding of GAAP in relation to revenue and cost recognition policies.
Knowledge of the financial systems or ERP financial systems; NetSuite is a plus.
Must possess good judgment, employee relation skills, analytical ability, effectively communicate both orally and in writing and the ability to multi-task.
Advanced PC skills particularly in creating complex workbooks and models in Microsoft Excel, and databases in Access.
